Mecmoiselle

In her work, Mecmoiselle engages with public space, the body as a political site, and the collective voice as an expression of resistance.

Her themes include identity, feminism, gender, roles, migration, and inequality. Mecmoiselle chooses her medium freely, yet with exact precision. She experiments (through painting, sewing, performance, and more), resulting in interventions and disruptions in urban spaces, performances, textile works that push or cross boundaries into design and fashion, window displays, and—not least—installations.

After her studies of Fine Art, she moved to Munich where she lived and worked the next 10 years. Her key project «Silent Voices — We Won't Forget You» (2021–present), began as a public intervention featuring tiles that documented femicides and placed throughout Munich’s urban space. In the work’s further development in Berlin in 2025, she engraved the tiles; rather than being placed across the city, Mecmoiselle formed a detached wall installation where the inscriptions became legible only through touch or light. The wall exuded the emptiness of concrete, demolition, and the "cube" aesthetic. The lighting evoked the rhythm of a heartbeat.

The origins of this work lie in Paris: encountering «the Collages-Féminicedes» showed her how grief can become political and how public space can serve as a site of collective memory.

Active in the intersectional feminist scene, she created a happening in 2021 and 2022 called the EXIT GENDER SPACE, where visitors were invited to explore the other genders.

Since 2022, she lives and works in Berlin. With her Vulva Carré Collection (2022/23–present), she combined art and fashion. «The idea came after my installation Dickpics (2022) where I drew vulvas on pieces of silk. I wanted the vulva to leave the safe space of an art gallery and enter our everyday life. I want every person to be part a revolution. To provoke. To be proud. And to make a little change - simply by wearing a Vulva Carré.»
